  • JM Inc. is looking to hire a MASON APPRENTICE with an interest in a career doing a variety of masonry, hardscape, and landscape projects. Experience is a plus, but not required. A desire and passion to learn the trade is an absolute must. On the job training is provided.

    Job Description:

    Our Masons complete a variety of hardscape, landscaping, and masonry projects, maintenance and repairs on our clients’ homes, which includes working with brick, stone, block, stucco, and cement. These projects include: patios, retaining walls, foundation repair, stucco repair, chimney and fireplaces, garage slabs, and more!

    Our Mason Apprentices work alongside and under the direction of experienced/foremen Masons completing a wide variety of masonry and construction tasks.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to work well with a team

    • Desire to learn and develop masonry skills

    • Ability to safely operate power tools, machines, and other construction-related equipment

    • Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination

    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects

    • Comfortable working in all weather conditions

    • Valid driver’s license

The projects include a variety of hardscape projects (fireplaces, patios, retaining walls, driveways, sidewalks), stucco repair, brick repair, as well as concrete patios, sidewalks, driveways, and seawalls. They are skilled masons. They are hardworking, reliable team players with a can-do, positive attitude.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • An experienced mason with a high level of skill (minimum of 3 years experience)

    • Masons that thrive when given a challenge and have excellent problem solving skills

    • Leadership skills preferred with a desire to eventually transition into a Foreman role

    • Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination

    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects

    • Ability to assess the quality of materials

    • Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment

The projects include a variety of hardscape projects (fireplaces, patios, retaining walls, driveways, sidewalks), stucco repair, brick repair, as well as concrete patios, sidewalks, driveways, and seawalls. They are skilled masons. They can take charge of projects, make decisions on what needs to be done, and delegates tasks to the crew. They are hardworking, reliable team players with good communication and organizational skills. They have a can-do, positive attitude. They provide excellent customer service while working with our clients. Mason Foremen may have 1-2 mason apprentices working with them.

    • An experienced mason with a high level of skill

    • Experience leading a crew

    • Ability to work well as a team with the Operations Lead, crew, and our specialty trade partners

    • Masons that thrive when given a challenge and have excellent problem solving skills

    • Good communication skills and organizational skills

    • Ability to assess the quality of materials

  • Job Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Carpentry Foreman to lead a team of carpenter assistants on home renovation projects. The Carpentry Foreman is responsible for supervising a team of carpenter assistants and laborers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and according to project specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on carpentry expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of residential construction standards and practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead a crew of carpenter assistants and laborers on construction sites while working alongside them

    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.

    • Oversee framing, installation of doors/windows, trim work, cabinetry, flooring, and other residential carpentry tasks.

    • Communicate effectively with homeowners, general contractors, and project managers.

    • Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety and building codes.

    • Train and mentor carpentry staff, providing guidance on best practices and techniques.

    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.

    • Monitor progress, inspect work, and resolve on-site issues quickly and professionally.

    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports and timesheets.

    • Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with local building codes and safety regulations.

    • Promote a safe work environment.

     

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • 5+ years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

    • Strong knowledge of building materials, methods, and tools.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

    • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

    • Proficient in using hand and power tools.

    • Proficiency in safety procedures

    • Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various conditions and environments.

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

     

    Work Environment and Conditions:

    • Work primarily on residential job sites like remodels and additions, and occasional new builds.

    • May involve work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.

    • May require overtime based on project needs.

     

    Job Tyle: Full-time and year-round

    Pay: $30-$45 per hour

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
